EARLY YEARS

Native from the Netherlands where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Dance and Theatre in 1995,

Marjon lived and worked in New York City from 1992 until 2000 as professional dancer, teacher ( Certified 'Simonson Technique Teacher', by Lynn Simonson since 1996), choreographer, producer as well as Certified Pilates instructor ( Classical Pilates Certified by Romana since 1997).

 

MEMENTO DANCE COMPANY

She mounted her contemporary Jazz Dance Company; Memento Dance Company in 1996 in New York City.

She moved to Paris in 2000. Back in The Netherlands in 2003, she re-mounted her company: Memento Dance Company traveled all over Europe, United States and Canada.

 

MEMENTO BODYWORKS

In 2004 she opened her own studio in The Netherlands called: Memento Bodyworks, studio for Pilates - Body Therapy and Performing Arts, where her dance company found a home and where the Pilates Teacher training Program began its journey and where teachers from the international theatre, dance & pilates world would come to teach. Her company, her studio and her work as choreographer left an important mark when it comes to Contemporary Jazz Dance in The Netherlands.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL

In April 2007, Marjon was invited to join Cirque du Soleil and toured as Artistic Director on Cirque du Soleil’s first Arena show DELIRIUM until its closing in 2008, one year later. She was hired as OVO’s Artistic Director for the creation in 2008 and took the show on the road until it closed its doors under the Big Top in June of 2015. Looking for a new challenge Marjon took over QUIDAM as Artistic Director until the iconic show took it’s final bow in early 2016. Marjon returned to OVO and was an instrumental player in the artistic remount of the show while it was morphing into an arena spectacular.

RETURN TO THE ROOTS

In December 2016, Marjon left Cirque and returned to the Netherlands. She was hired as Casting Director and Choreographer for C2 International (C2 Montreal) in collaboration with Ernest & Young and as Creative & Production Manager for the new creation CARO by Efteling Theater Productions, which premiered in September 2018 in the Netherlands. She also contributed to the Festival de Danse Encore and Tournee (Canada) with Memento Dance Company.

End 2018 Marjon relaunched her professional practice as a new variant of her old studio Memento Bodyworks and stared her work as a freelance Instructor & Teacher Trainer / Freelance Artistic & Creative Director / Coach & Consultant in the (inter)national field of theater & entertainment / dance & the Pilates method and beyond.

AT PRESENT:

PILATES METHOD AND BIODYNAMIC & INTEGRATIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY

Since 2016 Marjon has been deepening her knowledge by exploring & studying the Biodynamic and Integrative Psychotherapy work in Ireland. In January 2019, Marjon fully embraced this work and began her 4-year training as a Biodynamic & Integrative (Psycho)-therapist in Amsterdam while continuing her deep learning with her mentor in Ireland.

Since the year 2019 she is affiliated and registered as a Biodynamic & Integrative (Psycho)therapist with the Foundation for the Professional Organization for Body Oriented (Psycho)-Therapy (SBLP) in the Netherlands as well as alThe European Association for Body Psychotherapy ( EABP).

 

As of January  2021 and next to her work in the field of dance, theatre and the Pilates method, Marjon offers personal one-on-one therapy in her private practice in 's-Hertogenbosch ( The Netherlands) and is also available online nationally and internationally.
